Preparation Time: 45 min
Cooking Time: 40 min
Servings: 6-8 slices
Ingredients
Main:
4 peeled Green Smith apples
1 lemon, juice
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup cream
Shortcrust pastry
Preparation:
Peel the apples and slice them thinly. Place them in a large bowl and cover it with water. Add the lemon juice to prevent the apples from browning.
In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Then add the sliced apples, stir to coat and let it rest for 20 minutes. Reserve the remain liquid.
Place the pastry in a baking pan and make small holes on the bottom with a fork. Let it chill in the fridge for about 20 min.
Preheat the oven to 180 C.
Line the apple slices on the pie dough, starting from the outside and overlapping each slice to create a rose shape.
In a sauce pan, pour the reserved cinnamon-sugar liquid and let it boil. Then add the heavy cream and stir well.
Pour the sauce over the apples and bake it for about 40 min.
Let it cool and serve with the remain sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
