Black Forest Overnight Oats

Overnight oats inspired in the traditional Black Forest Cake.

Let’s welcome the cherry season with the Black Forest Overnight Oats. With this recipe you will have a creamy, nutritious and absolutely delicious breakfast waiting for you in the morning.

Filled with protein, healthy fats and carbs, you will be giving the all the nutrients to you body, but feeling like you are having the most delicious dessert. You must try it!

  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes

  • Fridge Time: Overnight

  • Servings: 2 servings


Ingredients

  1. Oats:

    1 cup of rolled oats

    1 1/2 cup of oat milk (or any other milk of your preference)

    1/4 cup of raw cocoa powder

    1 banana, mashed

    2 tbsp of chia seeds

    2 tbsp of Greek yogurt (or a plant based yogurt)

    1 tsp raw cocoa nibs

  2. Cherries:

    1 cup of cherries

    1 tsp lemon juice

    Optional: agave


Preparation:

  1. Start by mixing all the dry ingredients: oats, cocoa powder and the chia seeds.

  2. Add then the oat milk, the mashed banana and mix until well combined. Place in two individual cups, and reserve in the fridge.

  3. Cut the cherries in half, take out the seeds and place then on a small pan over low heat. Add the lemon juice, and if needed, agave or any other type of sweetener. Let it cook for about 3 minutes, until the cherries are slightly soft. Let them cool down for a few minutes.

  4. Add the cherries on top of the oats and reserve in the fridge overnight.

  5. The next morning, add the Greek yogurt on top, a fresh cherry and the raw cocoa nibs, and enjoy!
